Extra chin, anyone?

The Prince and I recently switched our driver's licenses over from Ontario ones to BC ones.

Our new cards came in the mail last night.

My picture is really, really awful.

No, I will not show it to you, but let me be clear:

They cropped out most of my really light, long blonde hair so that I appear to have a lopsided little bowl-cut.
My eyeliner looks dark and menacing (thank you, 8am heavy-handedness).
I'm holding my head at just the right angle for a dreaded second chin dealio to make a nice little appearance.
It's pretty bad, and by pretty bad I mean I'm never showing this picture to ANYONE.

The Prince opened his envelope, too.

And pulled out a driver's license picture that makes him look like a sexy A-lister.

Of course.

I'm serious though. No one gets to see mine. I'll keep it in my wallet because I have to, but I think I'll tape a little peice of paper over the picture part.

I have other cards I can use as photo ID.

Plus, this might make me a more conscious driver. I'll behave better on the road knowing that if I do get pulled over, a cop will get to see the hideousness that is this driver's license photo.

Silver lining, bitches.

How's your photo ID? Good? Bad? Does it make you look like someone you don't even WANT to know?

Cheers,

  1. Haha! I usually (and luckily) end up with pretty good photos for IDs, so I never worry too much about them. Until I renewed my passport last summer. They don't let you smile!!! How in the world are you supposed to make this picture NOT look like a mug shot if you can't smile? I seriously look like I'm stoned in my passport picture. But don't worry, I will get a new one......in TEN FREAKING YEARS!

    1. Yeah, I was told not to smile in this one as well.

My passport picture isn't much better, but at least I look like I have hair in that one.

  2. Pretty picture.
I also have the dreaded second chin in my license photo, though I really need to update and switch to a MA one, so maybe I can avoid it this time. Unfortunately, my second chin seems to be more permanent than occasional recently.

  4. I love your dedication to keeping this and keeping it hidden. I have been known to "lose" a license so I can go get a new picture. It's worth the lost license fee. Trust me.

    1. Yeah, I thought about that. I'm pretty sure they'd just re-send me the same picture, though... so I'm sticking with it.

  5. Mine looks terrible because they made me take off my glasses so I'm squinting because I can't see.

  6. That is weird! In the US our driver's license is immediately issued to us, no waiting.

  7. haha, my new drivers license just came in the mail (btw I live in the US and I always have to wait for mine to get mailed...) and it is AWFUL. For some reason, I always forget that I have to take a new photo, I think they'll just use the old one, and I'm never wearing make-up or have brushed hair in my photos. It's horrifying.

  9. I think this is my favourite blog so far. The pictures were fantastic. I'm sorry your picture is awful though mate, nothing is quite worse. We had to get new student cards a couple years ago, so bestie and I went done to uni one Saturday morning to get our snaps taken. The card machines on campus stretch your face out like you've put on 40 kilos, so we went to the city campus. We both looked pretty hot. Then my card printed, and I look like I have liver disease and just came off a four day speed bender. She looks like she's going clubbing. Bitch.

Recent passport photo... had to take my headband out and ended up looking bald. It's so bad I kind of find it funny now... but not quite. Maybe in a few years.

PS: PASSPORT + job = CANADIAN holiday savings. Soon.

    1. hahahahah, it's the worst when the person you go with looks good and you don't. So much anger!

My passport photo is bad, too. They made me pull my hair back- uuggggly.

Yes for Canadian holiday savings! Get on that!

  10. License pictures are the worst, but not to brag or anything, I'm actually really proud of my current license: the DMV office in my Texan neighborhood got a techonological makeover so they take really really good pictures of everyone. I look absolutely stunningly gorgeous, but the picture doesn't show me as I really am on a regular basis...

I dread the day I'll be pulled over by a cop and he'll be like, "Ma'am, you're coming with me for using a fake ID. This girl's too pretty to be you," and I'll be like, "Aww man, I knew I should've fancy-fied my face....Okayyy." (I hope this doesn't make me sound like a self-centered bitch..my apologies!)

    1. haaaahhaah, I'm sure that won't happen. I love it. I have NEVER had a good ID picture, ever.

I've got the "this is too ugly to be you"..... true story, happened on my birthday. Bouncer would NOT BELIEVE it was me.

  11. That sucks! You are stuck with it for years. Mine isn't terrible but it is far from great. When I got my picture taken for it the lady let me look at my picture to see if I liked it but I couldn't see it because I was still blinded from the flash.

    1. haha, pretty much the same thing happened to me- she asked me if I liked it but I didn't have my glasses on to really see it so I just said it was fine.
